Country overview

Saint Kitts & Nevis combines colonial plantation architecture with modern luxury tourism, centred on Frigate Bay and the historic capital Basseterre. Nevis is smaller and quieter, known for its Four Seasons resort and the Nevis Peak rainforest. The islands offer stable English-language infrastructure, low crime, and a well-developed expat community.

Tax overview

No income tax for Kittitian citizens, no capital gains tax, no inheritance tax, no wealth tax. Saint Kitts has one of the most compelling zero-tax structures in the CBI market, with 0% personal income tax a defining benefit.

Safety

Good — Crime rates are low and the overall security environment is stable. Hurricane risk is present but the islands have robust emergency management systems developed over decades.

Healthcare

Joseph N. France General Hospital provides public care; private clinics are available in Basseterre. Complex procedures require Barbados or the US.

Education

The Medical University of the Americas on Nevis provides tertiary presence. Primary and secondary schools follow a Cambridge curriculum, with private international options available.

Direct citizenship. St. Kitts & Nevis holds the Henley rank 19 — the highest-ranked Caribbean CBI passport, with UK, Schengen, Singapore, Hong Kong, and 150+ visa-free access. Regulated regionally by ECCIRA, operational from Q2 2026, under a USD 200,000 floor that has applied to every route since 1 July 2024. In June 2026 the European Commission wrote to this and four other Caribbean CBI states asking them to phase the programme out by 1 June 2028 or risk Schengen visa-free access; nothing has been suspended, and applications continue. Price the 2028 question in before applying.

Economic opportunity

The economy is heavily tourism-driven with financial services growing. Saint Kitts' zero-income-tax environment makes it attractive as a holding company or family office base for HNWI. The government is investing in renewable energy and digital services.
